The words in capitals are all song titles we put a CD together as well for this. CONGRATULATIONS to Ross and Lucy on your Ruby Wedding Anniversary There once was a beautiful young woman a real VENUS IN BLUE JEANS named, Lucy and a handsome uniformed TRAVELIN MAN named, Ross. One evening Ross decided that he would go out with his friends to a night club as he walked in he heard the voice of an angel singing SUKIYAKI he turned to the stage and looked he (I) SAW HER STANDING THERE he thought to himself I would be so lucky to get A GIRL LIKE YOU after her number he spoke to her and she didn’t seem too interested but he listened to what she had to say not looking like he stood a chance he said I BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY but I will marry you and with this promise he SEALED it WITH A KISS. A few months later on the 3rd of July 1965 to be “exacery”, he kept his promise and they took a trip to the CHAPEL OF LOVE afterwards he thought to himself WHEN THE GIRL IN YOUR ARMS IS THE GIRL IN YOUR HEART then you have got everything. After the wedding and honeymoon they left for Singapore getting ready to be posted back to England. Lucy asked DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING TO? Ross replied it doesn’t matter where we go with you I will always have a POCKETFUL OF RAINBOWS. They arrived in England. Ross had been posted to Thorny Island Airforce Base and exactly one year to the day of their marriage they were blessed with a beautiful bouncing baby girl, Ross looked at her and said ISN’T SHE LOVELY we will call her Jennifer Joan… Two and a half years later came another beautiful girl he took one look at her she looked so tiny and frail that Ross looked at his little bundle and said to her YOU’LL BE IN MY HEART forever I will call you Alison and give you your grandmothers name of Anderson for a middle name just so you could regret it the rest of your life. Ross received orders that he was to be posted North to Linton-on-Ouse near York but he had to go ahead first and his little family would join him later. As he left Lucy turned to him with tears in her eyes and said I WILL WAIT FOR YOU to send for us. With not too much time to wait he sent for his little family. Once again they were blessed with another bundle of joy a little boy to carry on the family name. Ross looked at him and said YOUR’E A DEVIL IN DIGUISE but a handsome devil just like your Dad I will name you Ian Allan after my late twin brother. Ross left the Airforce in 1972 and the family moved to 11 Arthur Street in York. Very quickly the family grew up and started to fly the nest. Jennifer after several trials found the man of her dreams in Steve Richardson. Alison met and married Mark Jeanes and Ian met Nicola Briggs. The family started to grow again with the birth of Ross and Lucy’s first Grandchild a boy Connor Allen who belonged to Ian and Nicky he was born in January very probably a LITTLE BLUE that Charlie Choo. Next came Katie Alison who’s Mum and Dad, Alison and Mark found her very inquisitive always wanting to know things, you could imagine her asking the cat WHAT’S NEW PUSSYCAT? Then last but definitely not least Kelsey Nicole a sister for Connor she looked just like a little dolly I think her tune will be MOLLIES SONG cause molly rhymes with dolly. So here we all are celebrating 40 years of marriage for Ross and Lucy after all we are not just family we are friends too and THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR to help you celebrate your achievements and be there for you in times of need, as IT’S ALL IN THE GAME, but as long as we live Mum and Dad there will NEVER BE ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU two for us kids and HAVE (I) we TOLD YOU LATELY that we (I) LOVE YOU and thank you for all the things you have done for us even when we haven’t deserved it, but that’s THE WONDER OF YOU two and we hope we have given you both wonderful MEMORIES.
